Paul Thomas Anderson is bringing his Oscar win for One Battle After Another back to the big screen with a new concert film featuring Geese frontman Cameron Winter. The director captured Winter’s solo set at Carnegie Hall on 35mm film, and the project is officially moving forward with co-producer Benny Safdie. The film will have its world premiere at the New York Film Festival on October 1, 2026, screening at Alice Tully Hall with both Anderson and Winter in attendance. Additional festival screenings are set for October 2 and October 9. After the festival run, Janus Films and Criterion will release the movie exclusively in U.S. theaters starting November 20. The distribution plan involves a traveling roadshow across America through mid-January, with stops in New York, LA, Chicago, Austin, and Portland.
There are currently no confirmed screening dates or venues for Australia. The distributors have only published the U.S. theatrical schedule. Because Janus Films and Criterion are handling the release, local film enthusiasts are waiting to see if the project will eventually reach international arthouse theaters, local festivals, or streaming platforms after the U.S. run concludes.
